We want to grow this local market by connecting local consumers and local producers and inviting them to join this co-operative enterprise. Membership is optional but if fresh local food is something you care about then please join us and together we can work to create a more resilient local food system.
Customers can log on to the site, browse a range of fresh local produce and add any items they like to their online shopping cart. Whilst browsing, you can view the details about the product, how, who and where it comes from. When you’re finished shopping, you can place your order, choose a payment method (cash, cheque, go-cardless, or bank transfer) and a delivery option (home delivery or collection). On Friday morning your order is packed ready for collection or home delivery in the afternoon.
For more information about joining as a consumer member see our Getting Involved page.
Producers can sign up with us, add their products to our online catalogue, and set the price they want to sell them for. Each producer can have a profile page on our site, where customers can learn a bit about where there food is coming from. Because of our low overheads we only charge a 15% mark up to help cover our running costs.
Customers can additionally sign up to be a Consumer Member of the Food Hub. As a Consumer Member you can participate in the development of the Food Hub by attending our meetings, volunteering, and writing articles, news updates, and local food recipes for the website. Each member has a vote and can stand to be one of the directors of the co-operative as a Consumer Member representative.
Consumer Members can also volunteer with the Food Hub in exchange for a 10% discount on your weekly order. This could be helping with packing, delivery, or providing a pick up point.
If you have already signed up as a customer and you are interested in joining as a Consumer Member, just contact us and we’ll send you a membership form.
